SCOTTY zeigt eine Ausstellung mit 6 Künstler:innen aus den USA, Kanada und Deutschland: Carl Baratta, Lacy Barry, Beatrice Jugert, Jasmine Justice, Kerstin Serz und Volker Tiemann kuratiert von Bettina Weiß

Die ausstellenden Künstler:innen arbeiten an der Grenze zur Abstraktion und spielen einerseits mit einer Idee von Tradition, auch Romantik, andererseits einer Form von Auflösung, etwas Surreales ploppt auf – dies jeweils in ihrer ganz eigenen Arbeitsweise und Umsetzungsform. In den Arbeiten spiegelt sich eine Art von Befreiung von Zuständen, welche Medien übergreifend und erweiternd dargestellt wird.
Der Aspekt des Fliegens in allen möglichen Bedeutungen ist in einer besonderen Art und Weise in die Arbeiten integriert. Volare heisst „fliegen“ und ist ein aktiver, auch schwebender Zustand, der Leichtigkeit, Luftigkeit und Freiheit suggeriert, auf dem Weg von hier nach dort, von einer Zeit oder einer Form in die andere. Übergänge in und von Zuständen, Positionen oder verwendeten Materialien sind hier das Thema: Volare.

SCOTTY shows an exhibition with 6 artists from the USA, Canada and Germany: Carl Baratta, Lacy Barry, Beatrice Jugert, Jasmine Justice, Kerstin Serz and Volker Tiemann curated by Bettina Weiß.

The exhibiting artists work on the border to abstraction and play on the one hand with an idea of tradition, also romanticism, on the other hand with a form of dissolution, something surreal sometimes pops up – each in their very own working method and form of realization.
The works reflect a kind of liberation of states, which is presented in a way that transcends media and expands them.
The aspect of flying in all possible meanings is integrated in a special way in the works. Volare means „to fly“ and is an active, also floating state that suggests lightness, airiness and freedom, on the way from here to there, from one time or form to another. Transitions in and from states, positions or materials used are the theme here: Volare.
